Welcome and Thank you for visiting the official website of the Franklin Fire Department. The Franklin Fire Department was established as a career Fire/Rescue Department in 1880. This year the department will be celebrating 125 years of service to our community.
The Franklin Fire Department provides fire and emergency services to the citizens of Franklin, Franklin Township, and surrounding communities encompassing 22.5 square miles.
The Fire Department has a minimum staffing level of (11) firefighter's for each 24 hour tour of duty. Each of the cities (2) stations are located in the central areas of town and are equipped with a fire engine and ambulance to serve the needs of the community. Our department offers (2) ambulances staffed by basic emergency medical technicians and paramedics that are assigned to non - transporting engines or rescue squads in an effort to provide advanced life support to those individuals that are sick or injured. In addition, the department is equipped with a 95' E-One Ladder/Tower housed at Station 21, and a Special Operations Unit that responds to incidents involving Dive/Water rescue, Rope rescue, and hazardous material incidents. Station 22 is equipped with 75' E-One Ladder, Paramedic vehicle Chase 21, Engine 22, and Ambulance 22.
The goal of the Franklin Fire Department is to provide its members with the benefits and skills necessary to advance in the firefighting proffession through expierence, education, and community involvement. By accomplishing these goals we are able to provide the highest quality of emergency services to those we are sworn to serve.
